“It Feels Like Water” The Sunscreen SPF-Haters Love: CabanaClear Full Review

CabanaClear From Naked Sundays is The New Standard for Sunscreen, and deserves a dedicated review from yours truly, a SPF fanatic who’s tried over 100+ American picks.

As an religious sunscreen user and reviewer, I believe it’s my duty to give an honest review of this sunscreen. If you didn’t know, in Australia, it’s actually not allowed to share personal thoughts on sunscreens sent by / paid by brands—so I bought this one myself (how virtuous of me) just to say whatever the hell I want about this SPF that isn’t getting the hype it deserves.

I do look longingly back on the days when bloggers and influencers could rave about new SPF technology that felt like it was changing the SPF-world in Australia, the skin cancer capital.

This is the sunscreen for people who think they hate sunscreen. It’s genuinely weightless and elegant, rivalling the best of Korean and Japanese sunscreens, but with advanced Aussie filters and technology.

I’ve introduced this product to some die-hard sunscreen sceptics, and it’s never failed to make them true fans.

Why It Stands Out

  • Semi-Matte Finish: Forget the dreaded greasy look. This is a Water based Gel Serum and offers a semi-matte finish that doesn’t go shiny throughout the day.

  • Silicone-Free & Water-Based: With zero silicone, it avoids that thick, heavy feel some sunscreens have. It’s a true featherlight formula.

  • Non-Irritating: It doesn’t sting my eyes, and—better yet—it doesn’t move around or travel into the eye area. That’s a huge plus, especially because protecting around your eye area is essential.

  • Bonus points: This formula includes hyaluronic acid, kakadu plum, and vitamin E. While I don’t buy sunscreen specifically for added skincare ingredients, these are a great touch if you want to streamline your morning routine.

All Skin Types

The Cabana Clear Water Gel Serum SPF 50 is fragrance-free, non-comedogenic (it doesn’t clog pores), and incredibly lightweight. It hasn’t caused a single break out on my super fussy skin. You can see my talk through and try-on here.

It’s also quick-drying, so there’s no risk of pilling or rolling up under makeup. Most importantly, it has zero white cast, even on the deepest skin tones—making it perfect for everyone.

The Catch: Luxury Price, But Worth Every Cent

Naked Sundays sits in the “luxury, cool-girl” sunscreen category, so it’s not the cheapest option on the market. But if there’s one item worth splurging on, it’s sunscreen—the foundation of any good skincare routine.

My tip? Purchase directly from the Naked Sundays website and use discount codes (mine is “JAQUELINE15” or any others) to make it more affordable.

If you’re reading this in real time, hi! Naked Sundays does amazing Black Friday sales, maybe wait a week or two for that? They often run sales on their direct site, and I think their discounts help make this product a no brainer.

Summing it up

This is honestly a glowing review which I want to acknowledge how “too good to be true” this sounds- But I can’t hold back because I believe this sunscreen deserves all the hype.

While accessibility and price are factors to consider, if you’re after one of the best sunscreens in Australia—one that could finally win over your sunscreen-hater friends—this is it.

If shopping online or spending at a higher price point doesn’t work for you, comment below, and I’d be happy to help you find alternatives. But if you want a SPF that blends seamlessly into your routine and you don’t mind the fanciness- CabanaClear is for you.
