Garnier is shaking things up with their new product launches, pushing further into the haircare category after fantastic viral launches like their hair food hair masks and hair drinks boasting tropical, yummy scents.

Beyond skincare and haircare products, Garnier’s partnership with the Great Barrier Reef Foundation is helping set a new standard for how brands approach their commitment to a greener planet.

At Garnier’s Greenhouse event, Garnier celebrated new launches, innovation and their commitments as a brand.

A panel including Garnier ANZ Dermatologist Dr Shammi Theesan, Marketing Director at Garnier ANZ Alexander Bachem, Garnier Scientific Director Dr Richard Betts, Clarissa Elakis from the Great Barrier Reef Foundation and Sustainability Expert Lottie Dalziel shared insights on accessibility, product innovation, and sustainability efforts at Garnier.

Let’s chat what’s new from Garnier and where they’re putting their research.

Vitamin C Daily Tinted Even Tone Fluid SPF 50+

The new SPF launch offers broad-spectrum sun protection with the added benefits of vitamin C.

  • Universally tinted. No white cast: Perfect for all skin tones, this fluid smooths out uneven areas without the dreaded ghostly effect.

  • Stabilised vitamin Cg: Garnier uses a vitamin C derivative combined with glucose for greater stability, reducing potential irritation.

  • Sensitive-skin approved: Dermatologist and ophthalmologist-tested, this sunscreen is gentle enough for delicate eyes and reactive skin.

According to Garnier’s Scientific Director, Dr. Richard, the SPF provides even coverage, essential UVA/UVB protection, and a lightweight finish.

"Correct, protect, and sensory" – Garnier hits all the marks with this multifunctional formula.

As dermatologist Dr. Shammi explains, topical vitamin C is essential for collagen production and offers additional protection against sunburn and DNA damage.

Glossy Hair Drink

Garnier’s (newish) launch, the Glossy Hair Drink – a vegan-friendly, sulfate-free solution designed to deliver salon-quality shine at home.

The reviews are great- but so is what’s in the bottle.

  • 97% natural formula: Combining natural origins with lamellar technology, the Hair Drink smooths rough hair strands instantly.

  • 12+ treatments per bottle: Just a few drops deliver a glass-like gloss for manageable and frizz-free hair. The glass hair trend is taking TikTok by storm, so it’s nice to have an accessible option for the glass-like shine.

Dr. Richard explains the magic behind lamellar technology: “It provides thin, even coverage that smooths the hair without weighing it down.”

With playful flavours like banana and pineapple, these treatments are effective as they are experiential.

Hair Food Hair Masks

Garnier’s Hair Food Masks are back with an upgraded formula that offers even more benefits!

  • 99% biodegradable, vegan, and silicone-free

  • Vitamin-rich formula: Vitamin C for UV protection, Vitamin E for soothing nourishment, and Vitamin F to strengthen and add shine.

  • Fatty acids and omega oils: Combat frizz and lock moisture by sealing the cuticle.

This innovative formula helps hair thrive under the harsh American sun while staying free from artificial colouring and unnecessary chemicals.

NEW: Good Permanent Hair Colour

Garnier’s latest foray into hair colour, Good Hair Colour, makes DIY colouring easier than ever.

They’ve made it super simple – just mix, apply like a hair mask, and enjoy vibrant, salon-quality colour from home.

Viral Micellar Water

Dr. Richard breaks down how Garnier’s micellar water works: “The micelles act like tiny magnets, attracting dirt, sunscreen, and makeup for easy removal.”

Garnier’s micellar water ensures a thorough cleanse without stripping the skin’s natural oils, making it a favourite for many Aussies.

Commitment to Sustainability

Beyond beauty, Garnier’s mission is to make a positive impact on the planet.

Through their second-year partnership with the Great Barrier Reef Foundation, Garnier is helping restore damaged reefs.

For every Garnier product purchased at Coles until 5th November, a baby coral will be planted on the Great Barrier Reef.

Last year, Garnier planted 500,000 coral babies, and this year the goal is 700,000.

Clarissa Elakis from the Great Barrier Reef Foundation explains, “Australia’s reef supports 25% of global marine life, but climate change is making it harder for the reef to recover naturally.

With the mass coral spawning event approaching, the timing of this project is critical.”

Alexander Bachem, Garnier’s Head of Marketing says, "We are a mass brand for everyone, but we are also committed to using natural ingredients and more sustainable solutions.”

Garnier’s efforts to make conscious shopping accessible is a big shift in the beauty world- and a much needed one at that.
