Brand Review: French Pharmacy Brand SVR Hits Priceline! Must Haves + More
SVR is making waves as the new-ish French pharmacy brand in Australia. While it's recently hit the shelves of our Priceline brick-and-mortar stores, it’s previously it has been available officially online through French Beauty Co, and less officially through third parties doing their best to get SVR holy grails into Australia through on selling direct from France.
In Europe, SVR is incredibly popular, like, “Oh you’re going to France? Get SVR!” popular (according to many “Im going to Europe what skincare should I get” reddit threads)
Point being: They’re lining the walls of French pharmacies next to many other well-known French pharmacy go-to brands [Think La-Roche Posay, Avene, Bioderma etc] that have captured the skintok and skin-enthusiast space in Australia.
What Makes French Skincare so Viral?
It’s the classic, long-term skin health approach that sets it apart. This is somewhat due to the skin culture in France. French skincare is often designed to work alongside consultations with Dermatologists and Pharmacists.
In Europe, Pharmacists are hands-on with customers due to majority of Pharmacies being family-owned, which is a strong contrast to the chain branded Pharmacies we have in Australia [Note, some chain pharmacies are family owned, like Priceline!]
French Dermatologists not only prescribe medication for skin conditions but also recommend skincare products to use alongside medication or separately to start a routine.

They truly excel in what French skincare is known and loved for, making them a welcomed addition to Australia for this skin enthusiast.
It’s not unusual for a French dermatologist to literally write down on a script to include the Cicavit+ from SVR as something to pick up from the pharmacy along with prescription medication (more on this later).
You might find French pharmacy product packaging overwhelming, but SVR brings simplicity with their ABCs, which is especially appreciated if you only speak English.
Their range is straightforward, branching out into products you can mix and match based on your skin type.
They offer excellent solutions for hypersensitive skin as well.
Being acne-prone and prone to flare-ups and dryness due to the stronger actives I use, I’ve really enjoyed what SVR offers.
They avoid pore-clogging ingredients, which is crucial for my acne-prone skin.
So, I think it’s worth stocking up during the 20% off Priceline sale.
One product I highly recommend is the [B3] Ampoule.
I’ve gone through three bottles of it. It’s a wonderful, simple product that can be used morning and night.
It’s juicy, not skimpy, offering hydration with multi-molecular weight hyaluronic acid, while also providing an efficacious dose of niacinamide to address spots, oil regulation, and hyperpigmentation.

I also love their Sebiaclear range.
The cleanser has a beautiful, rich, and generous lather, and their active spot treatment is fantastic.

It uses AHAs that might typically irritate acne-prone skin, but with a 14% acid complex, it unclogs pores without stressing the skin. I also really like their active serum.
It’s effective, layers nicely with makeup, and can be used as both a spot treatment and an all-over preventative and maintenance acne pick.
Plus, it comes in a 40ml size, which is bigger than a typical 30ml serum.

Lastly, I can’t recommend Cicavit Plus enough.
I’ve been using it morning and night since it arrived on my doorstep, and it’s been a game-changer.
It’s a beautiful barrier-healing cream with an anti-marks complex, ticking all the boxes for me.
There’s no paste or white cast, and it layers well with my other skincare products.
It’s especially helped with some recent flare-ups- I also love the notiable difference in how long my blemishes and scarring takes to leave my face! Relief.
Overall, SVR is a well-thought-out brand, and I’m excited to try more of their products.
